Novak Djokovic triumphs Australian Open for a record 5th time!!


Novak Djokovic prevailed upon Andy Murray to clinch Australian Open championship for a record 5th time. The world no.1 took the 8th grand slam title and tied the record with Agassi in no.of majors. The Becker trained boy smashes Mauresmo's student here at Melbourne. It was another disappointing loss for Andy, losing all four finals here.

Andy was very tough in the first two sets. But Novak was too good for Murray in the mental standards.Murray loses rhythm completely and missing easy volleys making many errors.

Murray got the first break in the 7th game from 4-1 to 4-3. The confident Britt try to level the score, but the Serbian prevailed and broke back to take the lead to 5-3 even he peaked off some skin when he slipped at net. Remember this is Australian Open championship match, Murray recalled it and broke Novak serve again to take score 5-4, 5-5. And both went on to hold their serves to play the first tie break. And Novak started with one double fault. With the strong back hand Murray leads first six points with 4-2. And Murray placed one four fault to switch the momentum to Djokovic. And Novak grabbed the first set after the simple miss from Andy.

Second set, Novak seemed not so comfortable in the first two games. Murray seized the opportunity and went on to take 2-0 lead. And Djokovic the beauty, breaks serve and finished 4th game with amazing point to level the score 2-2 and quickly got the break to lead the set with 3-2. Murray comeback strongly down from 2-4 to 5-4. Insane rallies continuing, and Murray got two set points but Novak deny them and holds to level games, 5-5. The world no.6 holds the crucial game. But the world no.1 took the set to tie break. This time Murray done it, and split the sets.

Third set was so dramatic. Novak was lazy in the first two games and down to 0-2. Murray took it so easy and committed more errors to lose the set with 3-6. Murray completely loses the rhythm and offered break in the very first game of the 4th set. Djokovic didn't stop from there and scored a bagel (6-0) to win the championship.

Novak remains at top in ATP rankings and Andy will move up two positions and stood after Roger and Rafa. Wawrinka, last year champion will lose five positions and will hold 9th rank in the monday rankings.
