Lone Survivor [2013] gives what I want - Inspiration

This movie was about the failure of a mission carried out by an US navy team (Marcus, Mike, Danny, Axe) on Taliban leader. The mission was compromised when the villagers saw the team located at the safe points. They took the right decision without killing the villagers. But the comms (communication devices) brought by them were utterly plopped all the way and they were attacked by Talibans.

The war started, the soldiers who were trained with extreme conditions were tested from time to time. After few min one soldier (Danny) lost life and other three were very badly injured. They realized that back up was necessary and one soldier (Mike) went for mountain top while other two covering for him, he contacted base using his SAT phone. And army base responded, but the receiver died.

After seeing military helicopters, the other two joyed but it din't last for a sec when an RPG hit it and total helicopter blown away. So the next mission for the two survivors was to scatter and survive, they did same but Axe died. Marcus, the lone survivor reached a village named Pasthun. And this village had an outstanding quality that they will protect the host by whatever means. Marcus had sent an authorized message through a villager. And again, the US army responded with big troops and captured the lone survivor.

Clapping moments

  • When a new soldier (Shane Patton) joins in the mission. The speech given by him was awesome.

Been around the world twice. Talked to everyone once. Seen two whales fuck, been to three world faires. And I even know a man in Thailand with a wooden cock. I pushed more peeter, more sweeter and more completer than any other peter pusher around. I'm a hard bodied, hairy chested, rootin' tootin' shootin', parachutin' demolition double cap crimpin' frogman. There ain't nothin' I can't do. No sky too high, no sea too rough, no muff too tough. Been a lot of lessons in my life. Never shoot a large caliber man with a small caliber bullet. Drove all kinds of trucks. 2by's, 4by's , 6by's and those big mother fuckers that bend and go 'Shhh Shhh' when you step on the brakes. Anything in life worth doing is worth overdoing. Moderation is for cowards. I'm a lover, I'm a fighter, I'm a UDT Navy SEAL diver. I'll wine, dine, intertwine, and sneak out the back door when the refueling is done. So if you're feeling froggy, then you better jump, because this frogman's been there, done that and is going back for more. Cheers boys.

  • When Mike was ready to sacrifice his life for other soliders, he says to Marcus,

Marcus. Never out of the fight

  • When Marcus was getting treatment, he says

Part of me was already dead on the mountains there, and other part of them survived here.

Peter berg, the director of Battleship did a good job in this film too. And stars Mark Wahlburg, Taylor Kitsch done their part, sound track could be better. And the funny part is this film was nominated for Oscars in two categories related to sound : Best Achievement in Sound Editing and Best Achievement in Sound Mixing.

Director, Peter Berg says about this film

"This story is about working together for something bigger than our ego, bigger than our individuality. It’s about coming together as a group—protecting each other, loving each other, looking out for each other—and finding a greater strength as a team than you could ever find as an individual. Marcus [Luttrell] wrote a book that, as much as it’s about 19 people being killed on a tragic day in Afghanistan, is about brotherhood, sacrifice and team commitment.”

Google's Stadia, the GAME changer!

Having a high-end computer or any one of the boxes (Xbox, PlayStation) is not necessary to play high end games in the near future. Recently Google announced a new product from its armory related to gaming at GDC2019, called Stadia . Stadia offers to stream the game in the web browser itself. The game will be loaded and run on the server side, only the video will be played on your computer/mobile. This can be called as Cloud Gaming or Game as a Service (GaaS). All we need is a decent internet connection and probably a subscription for Stadia. No need for any boxes. The traditional premium boxes will be second thought. Since they are expensive for a casual gamer, Stadia will be the best option to experience big games. High tech spec GPUs, high speed processors and all the expensive hardware part will be saved. Hmm, it sounds awesome!! This is another master plan by Google to rule the digital world. Already Google and it's echo system is way more penetrated...
