How to take back up and restore sticky notes

Sticky notes is one of the best option for noting tasks and to store text to be used in different places. What if we want to format our system and want to take back up and restore it in new machine or restore it in same machine.

How to take sticky notes back up

Sticky notes content is stored with an extension .snt. Taking backup of sticky notes means to save this file in a secure place. The location of default file is
<Operating system Drive>:Users<username>AppDataRoamingMicrosoftSticky Notes

example : C:UsersCnu FedererAppDataRoamingMicrosoftSticky Notes

Now take this file and copy to your back up folder.


There is one more method to navigate to this folder. Directly from run prompt.



Click Windows key + R and type %AppData%MicrosoftSticky Notes. It opens the same location.

Restore sticky notes 

The restore process will be reverse process. Copy your back up file and paste it in the same path. You can reach the same path by any of the two methods written above.
